The DownEast Scenic operates on six miles of track on the former Maine Central Railroad's Calais Branch, from Washington Junction in Hancock, Maine West to Ellsworth Falls in Ellsworth Maine.
They utilize former Maine Central ALCo S-4 #1055 as their main power on the Excursion trains. The 1055 spent many years at Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway, New Hampshire til 2010 when it was sold to DownEast Scenic. We capture action along this scenic line with #1055 and her passenger train at many scenic locations.
